Getting started

Upload and share knowledge

Use Storage to organize company files, search workspace knowledge, and share the right folders with the AI teammates that need them.

Store working knowledge in one place

The Storage page is where your organization can browse folders, search the current folder, switch between list and grid views, create folders, upload files, download files, copy paths, and delete items.

Files can also open in Cowork when they are non-folder items, using the file path as the link target.

Upload files and folders

Storage supports file picker upload, drag-and-drop upload, and folder upload. Upload progress can persist, and the upload flow supports pause, resume, retry, and cancel.

The current maximum upload size is 10 MB per file. Supported upload types include common image, document, spreadsheet, presentation, text, markdown, CSV, JSON, YAML, HTML, and PDF formats.

Keep folders organized

Use folders to group knowledge by team, process, customer, project, or AI teammate responsibility.

Individual files cannot currently be uploaded to root from the Storage UI, but root-level folder uploads are allowed. Duplicate handling offers Skip existing and Replace.

Share folders with AI teammates

Only folders can be shared. Root cannot be shared.

When you share a folder, choose which AI teammates get access and whether that access includes read, write, or both. In the current sharing model, write access also requires read access, so the UI does not allow write-only access.

Understand Ally's special access

Ally has automatic full storage access. Ally appears in the sharing dialog as already enabled with read and write access, and those settings are not edited like a normal AI teammate share.

Regular AI teammates are different. Regular AI teammates only see folders explicitly shared with them, including any inherited access from parent folders.

Search and indexing

Storage rows can show indexing status, including indexed, queued, indexing, failed, and not indexable.

Vector indexing currently supports .txt, .md, .docx, .pdf, and .pptx. Exact storage search can work across a broader set of document formats, including documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs.
